Superior Coastal Life

What about Superior Coastal Sports ?   Well, that business no longer exists.   Superior Coastal does however as a domain.  I've had a website for the kayak business since 1994.  I suppose I could be content with some Blogger or Facebook page but I kind of like making my own website.  I call it Superior Coastal Life.  I truely feel that living at or near a coastal environment is hard to beat.. 'superior'.  I feel a bit like I'm drifting since selling the store and ceasing to operate.  First there was the Inside Passage Kayak Trip .. then feeling obligated to buy a place to live so I wasn't paying rent .. the idea of buying another house was mainly as a place to keep my stuff and rental income.  I wanted to be free to travel, take more long kayak trips, etc. Well, finally I am getting into the rental income scenario.  I'm also going to sell my house on Park Point in Duluth Minnesota at some point.  Asking $160,000 and if interested have a look at my Facebook album and contact me. This won't be for 6 months however.. But we can talk if you're interested.

Yes.. I kind of rushed the buying a house... I could have gone directly on that other path contemplated 10 years ago....living on a sailboat.  This idea is actually older than that.  It began in 1983 after spending a few nights aboard the SV Sheila Yates sailing around the Apostle Islands with some white-water paddling friends.  I was very focused on paddling white-water back then.. working in the construction trades and also doing a bit of kayak touring on Lake Superior... but the idea of living on a sailboat was always with me.  I would ideally be planning this live aboard life with the love of my life.  So far no such luck.  I guess I'll have to go the single handed route.. always looking for visiting crew.  It sure will be nice when I finally meet that woman of similar passions.  ?

Since we are on the topic of 'the future'..  I'd like to express my advocacy of a 'resource based economy'.  I have always been very environmentally conscious and it had been difficult to not feel pessimistic about earth and humanity's future.  Having stumbled upon the concept of a RBE .. a future where humanity realizes the limitations and destructive tendencies ?of valuing the accumulation of $$$$ over a healthy, happy global society and a healthy, sustainable and biologically diverse Earth, I can again feel optimism for the future.  What is money really but an outdated human invention kept in use for wealth accumulation by the enfluential and privileged ... fueled by enslaving the many with debt.  Why does humanity allow a chosen elite to manipulate and control human needs for their own gain.  I could go on and on .. If you've not heard of the Zeitgeist Movement .. you should.  If you have heard of it but don't see any reason of advocacy, look again from outside your own acceptance of the status quo.   The status quo is taking us down a very dark path.. We can do better.
